Hello Leslie, I'm a member of the Kyle Family Society and am just starting my own research into my family from the NY/NJ area. Thanks for the site/links!
FYI: I live in Rockville Maryland, but was born and raised in NYC. My family has been in the US for a long time (pre revolution) but I need to verify or deny all the lore that has been passed down. I am presently hunting down a family bible that was last seen by my side of the family in the 1950's. My father - Robert Taylor Kyle III - told me that it was had it's first recorded records in the 1812 - 1820 time frame, but they believe the family was here long before then.
Just wanted to connnect and hope to keep in touch.
Best regards, David Kyle

Hi Leslie,
I am also a descendant of John Campbell Kyle through his gr.gr.grandaughter, Jenny Branson/Benson Kyle (daughter of James Watkins Kyle and Leila Sweetser Rogers). Jenny was my great-grandmother on my maternal side. There were family rumors that Leila's family shunned her after her marriage to James, but I don't have any details. Are you aware of any family info that would shed light to this rumor?

Jane, We are not from that line of Kyle's, DNA had excluded me from them. We don't really have any info about that line. Sorry. Leslie kylehistory.tribalpages.com/
